PRODUCT CASE STUDY · AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION WEB APP
Voicerr: from audio to a transcript you can work with.
Recording and file upload are two ways into the same task: turn audio into useful text. Voicerr brings both into a browser workspace where a transcript can be reviewed, corrected, organized, and exported.

Two starting points, one workspace.
Some recordings already exist as audio or video files. Others need to be captured now. Voicerr places file intake and recording side by side, so neither route is hidden inside an unrelated screen.
Recording options include the microphone, audio from a shared browser tab, and system audio where the browser supports it. Capture availability depends on the browser, operating system, and permissions; desktop Chromium browsers expose options that are not available everywhere.
Make the transcript useful after the first run.
A first transcription is the beginning of the workflow. The app supports text correction, speaker labels, custom vocabulary, and prompt templates. Search, tags, and filters help people return to a saved transcription.
Copying and export turn that work into something usable elsewhere. Alongside text-oriented outputs, SRT and VTT export support subtitle workflows. The feature set is presented in the app rather than hidden behind a studio contact form.
Local storage with a chosen transcription provider.
The public app uses browser storage for its local history and lets people configure their own transcription provider credentials. Audio preparation happens in the browser, and transcription audio is sent to the selected provider. Browser-based does not mean the transcription runs entirely on the device.
This design gives the user control over the provider used for a run and keeps a local workspace for the resulting text. It also makes backup and browser data management important: clearing site data can remove locally stored work.
What this project demonstrates.
Voicerr brings browser media capture, external AI services, local persistence, and an editable document workflow into one product. The engineering challenge is connecting those steps while keeping the source and the saved transcription understandable to the user.
The public workspace is available at voicerr.tech. Its settings and help describe the available providers, recording options, and exports for the version you are using.
